LT KERB
Lite kerb is possibly the lightest kerb and kerb drainage product in the market.
LT Kerb is a patented product compromising of an external shell with internal reinforcement matrix designed to be bedded in concrete akin to traditional concrete kerbs. The shell is then filled with self-compacting concrete to form a robust kerb.

The kerbs are designed to manufactured in long lengths and laid in lengths up to 8m. The product is light in weight (Less than 5kg/m). Current kerbs are laid in meter lengths and jointed to form a kerb string. There are advantages in having longer units as it vastly increases installation speeds.

WHY LT KERB?
- It is very light - less than 5kgs per meter thus easy to handle without need for mechanical aids. Meets HSE aspiration of eliminating manual handling of heavy kerb elements all together.
- Can be manufactured and laid in long lengths – up to 8m unlike current kerbs which are laid in meter lengths. This will increase the lengths that can be laid in a shift (Cost savings) and accuracy of laying a kerb string due to fewer joints.
- LT Kerbs can be economically filled with concrete creating kerbs of comparable strengths to precast concrete ones.
- Enables strengthening by incorporating reinforcement bars at concrete infill stage for higher loads applications. In normal kerbs only the kerb bed can be reinforced.
- In cases of accidental high temperature fire, only the plastic shell melts leaving the inner concrete core intact. Melted shell can be easily repaired unlike fully polymeric alternatives
- Can be made into complete traffic islands or dropped crossings in one piece for ease of construction, something currently unavailable.
